Here’s to the start

January has been a great start to 2023, it is currently the 25th and so much has been accomplished. Something I plan to do with this blog is to not dwell too much on the negative and/or be self-critical. With this being said this month, for the most part, has stayed on track, if anything it has surpassed plans and expectations.

From my personal business, workouts, job, and more.

My approach for each day:

  1. Wake up before 8am (7-7:30am), fix coffee + eat quick breakfast bar
  2. Sit down at the computer and begin personal business-related work, for 1- 1 1/2 hours of steady work efforts. This work is guided by previous goals and objectives set for 2023.
  3. At 9am I start my 9-5 full time work, my role is as a DevOps Support Engineer.
  4. Either have a lift session, cook dinner, run, or just relax
  5. Read every other night (in some cases every night)

I find it better to hit my personal business-related goals, before my 9-5 and workouts in the evening. Due to not wanting to work this in the late evening post workouts and my 9-5, it’s only a 1-1.5 hour of work just knock it out fresh in the morning. This personal business revolves around continuously building upon an online community platform functionality, SEO, and marketing. As well as building websites for other businesses and working on their Search Engine Optimization. These websites (and or business software) are powered by the platform, or stand-alone.

When it comes to my 9-5 DevOps Support Engineer role, I keep an eye on data between systems and databases, if an issue arises, my team and I reconcile the data, then begin looking for why this occurred. So my team is nearly the equivalent of a fire fighting team for live global production data. We have to know the flow of data between systems, and which states this data should be in.

A little about my lifting, I have been lifting for 5 years, and love it. It is a passion of mine. It is a mixture of bodybuilding and powerlifting. The consistent building of strength over time is not an easy thing. It requires confidence yet humility, consistency as well as rest and breaks.

I also go for runs during the week between lifts, as a recovery method, and for cardiovascular health. Running helps with muscle soreness, by helping blood flow through the body, lung expansion, and helps your heart remain strong and healthy.

I consider lifts, runs, reading, and watching some tv as relaxing. As well as cooking, cooking is also a passion. I grill for the most part on a Blackstone, bake, and create Instapot pulled pork on occasion. My favorite Blackstone meal as of currently is a Habachi mix.

When it comes to reading I love to read real estate investing, self-growth, and pre-historic books. My goal is to have between 4-5 rental properties before I am 30 years of age.

Favorite foods my wife and I love Sushi, overall I would say Seafood is my favorite type. Oysters, Sushi, Crab legs, Lobster.
